Minneapolis · Creative Arts Therapy
Healing and growth through story, role, imagination, and embodied play.
with Talia Smigielski, Registered Drama Therapist
What is drama therapy?
Drama therapy is the intentional use of theatre and storytelling techniques — role-play, improvisation, movement, metaphor, and performance — to support emotional growth, connection, and healing. It is an active, experiential form of therapy: rather than only talking about our lives, we give them room to be explored, witnessed, and reshaped.
Access feelings and experiences that are hard to put into language through movement, role, and play.
Explore difficult material at a manageable distance through character, imagination, and narrative.
Build confidence, empathy, and belonging — one-to-one or within a supportive group.
